Back in 2018, I was working on the early visual development of the game Chorus at the gamedev studio Fishlabs. Have a look :) . I left about 3 years ago, and it finally released, so I was awaiting the moment I get to show off some of my favourites from that time. I had a huge stack of artwork to go through and was agonizing what to put in and what to cut out (maybe you know the feeling). In the end, I dumpstered, like, 90%. Its still a lot, but these are my darlings. I decided I'd show different stages for some of it, too, because I always find that stuff interesting, and maybe you do, too.

In this collection, it's all vis-dev for the enemy faction of the game. These were quite a lot of fun, especially the weirder ones!

I was mocked for this one, as it looks like a B-hole in the sky T.T

This floating city type of structure was enourmous. The player ship would just be a tiny speck here.

There was some alternate dimension stuff going on with this faction and we were talking about reality/space twisting and distorting. Obviously I had all the Doctor Strange sequences on loop for reference.

I very much enjoy reusing parts of previous artworks and things I already rendered again, so I don't have to paint it all again :D Transform-Tool is my best friend in photoshop for these type of concepts.

I'd never want to print these artworks. I really cranked on the saturation...

There were a lot of very specific requirements I had for the basic building material of this faction. The translucency with the veins inside the crystals was one of them. I looks very nice in these artworks, IMHO, but gave Techart a headache.

I loved doing these artworks. They are representations of the dimensional travel you get up to. Some of that was supposed to be for when you switch areas in the game. So fast-travel basically.
